1949 to Now: The History of WYVE

The following three articles were printed in the Southwest Virginia Enterprise in Wytheville on September 21, 1949 - WYVE's First Broadcast! Enjoy a trip down memory lane with some old photos from "Your Hometown Sound" since 1949 - WYVE Radio! Photographs were taken from the 1990 WYVE Cookbook/Photo Album, published by WYVE. They asked listeners to call WYVE to vote for Craig or Jack - each vote was a pledge for the caller to donate a pint of blood during the Bloodmobile visit to Wytheville. The winner got to ride down Main Street in a wheelbarrow and the loser pushed, dressed in red underwear. Craig lost by one vote!
